Convert image to smaller online

Reduce image file size before uploading or sharing. Choose JPG or WebP output, adjust quality, and optionally set a target size in KB. The tool tries to meet that target without resizing.

A target size is best effort: detailed images may need fewer pixels to get substantially smaller. PNG inputs with transparency should use WebP output if you need to keep transparent areas.

Frequently asked questions

Can I compress an image to a specific KB size?

You can enter a target. The tool adjusts lossy quality and reports the actual size, but some targets require resizing too.

Will transparent PNGs stay transparent?

Choose WebP output to retain transparency. JPG has no transparency and uses your selected background color.

Are my images uploaded for compression?

No. Compression runs in your browser and the source files stay on your device.
